My covid update: Hey all, I've been silent for a while trying to figure things out when covid cancelled all my speaking gigs, classes, marketing, swap meets, etc So, the long and short of it is that #tinkerit and #jojaqs are going back to part time for a little while. I used to get one or two recruiter a week asking me to take jobs, but I loved mine too much. I said yes to one on April first and I'm finishing my first week doing training videos for this IT company and I'm going to stick with it a while. JoJaqs isn't dead. I'm actually doing a live session at #havenconference2020 in July and still working on projects in my off hours. I just finished a school design in Maryland for TinkerIT and I'll upload pictures soon of that. !!!! If you're a Maker and read this far and wanted to take one of my classes and couldn't afford it or catch one at the right time, comment on this post and tag someone who you want to do a class with and I will do a free live seminar as I practice for Haven. Today's #tinkerit project was an idea from #workbenchcon2020 after @bentswoodworking spoke about tripods in the shop and @fixthisbuildthat spoke about tools to make us efficient. @onceuponaworkbench gave some great feedback on weight and cameras, and pencil went to paper. . This is using an @magswitch_tech block drilled and tapped at 1/4-20 and a @manfrottoimaginemore friction arm. . The next upgrade is rubber iso mounts suggested by @izzyswan_woodworking. This arm wouldn't hold the 1/4-20 ones I bought, so I'm getting the big magic arm for this 4lb @canonusa 5Dmk3. . . Once it is ready, expect a video on how it looks and how it's made on the new 6010 channel I will be starting. .
